Called "Four Passages," Patricia's Tiny Solo Show offered this statement: The illegible marks on these pieces are created by intensively writing and re-writing passages for meditation on thin mulberry paper with a piece of watercolor paper underneath.

The writing bleeds through the thin mulberry paper, leaving a vestige of illegible marks on the watercolor paper.  It creates unexpected patterns - ancient and mystical.  I discovered this phenomenon quite by accident.

The red circles are fashioned after the “bindi” marked on the foreheads of those devoted to God throughout SE Asia.
